Riding to Africa, or on your way back? Heliophora offers you up to two nights in a bungalow, or a spot to pitch your tent facing the lagoon if the lodge is full. When the restaurant is open, your meals are on us too. Moroccan or foreign, it doesn't matter: all you need is to be on the road.
A founder who rides
Rachid Roussafi, Heliophora's founder, knows the road. In 2025 he rode from Dakhla to Johor Bahru, at the gates of Singapore: four months and twelve countries on his KTM 890 Adventure R, nicknamed "Commando". He has also ridden down to Senegal twice. He knows what a welcoming stop means after long days on the road.
Dakhla, the last stop before Mauritania
Dakhla is the last major stop before the Mauritanian border. Heliophora is at kilometre 75 on the El Argoub road, on the shore of the lagoon: a place to rest, wash the bike, plan the next leg and enjoy a swim or a session on the water before moving on.
